Diploma in Graphic Design

The Diploma in Graphic Design is a 2.5-year programme that combines ideas, art, and technology to communicate information visually to the audience. This programme covers an extensive range of areas: typography and editorial design, packaging design, illustration, desktop publishing and photography, and advertising design. Students will develop creative and compelling graphic works that communicate the client`s message. Students will also learn to analyse the demographic and psychographic profiles of the target audience. The programme also exposes students to a series of studio activities and design projects to help build their confidence and marketing acumen.
Entry Requirements
GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of FOUR (4) GCE O Level Credits (Grade A-C), OR
- Minimum of FOUR (4) IGCSE (Grade A-C), OR
- Minimum of FOUR (4) GCSE O Level (Grade A-C), OR
- MAIC Certificate in Business / Creative Design OR
- UMS (*) Certificate in Electronic Media Production/ Certificate in Art and Design OR
[Note: (*) - Applicants using the UMS qualification are subject to approval from the MAIC]
- BDTVEC Pre-National Diploma, OR
- BDTVEC Skill Certificate 3, OR
- National Technical Certificate (NTEC)
OTHER EQUIVALENT QUALIFICATIONS ACCREDITED BY BDNAC
- SQA National Certificate, OR
- NCC Education International Certificate, OR
- NCC Education Level 3 Diploma, OR
- Sijil Pelajaran Ugama Brunei (SPUB) (*), OR
(*) Subject to interview and portfolio submission (Diploma in Graphic Design)
- BTEC Level 2 from relevant courses (from IPTS), OR
- Any other qualifications accredited by the BDNAC/MKPK
FOR MATURE STUDENTS/APPLICANTS:
- At least THREE (3) years of working experience in relevant field with THREE (3) subject GCE O`Level with Grade 1-7 / A-D) in any subject,
AND
- Pass the Drawing Test (for Diploma in Graphic Design only)
- Pass in the Interview
- Letter of approval from employer
- CV and written personal statement.

NOTE:
- Credit transfer applications must be submitted in Semester 1 and subject to the approval from MAIC.
- Total Credit hours eligible for credit transfer from MAIC Certificate in Graphic Design is 24 credits.
